Hotel Review: Corinthia St George’s Bay, Malta

Last Updated: December 20, 2023

Do you ever feel the need of pampering yourself after a hard weeks work by spending some time at a nice hotel? That’s exactly how I have been feeling for the past months. So when Corinthia St George’s invited me to spend one night at their beautiful hotel, I jumped at the opportunity. It was honestly as if they read my mind!

CORINTHIA ST GEORGE’S BAY

Corinthia St George’s Bay is located in the St. Julian’s area, a perfect location if you want to get out of the hotel and enjoy a few hours in the bustling streets. In St. Julian’s you will find plenty of great restaurants and bars and a small beach where you can perfect your tan.

Not that you will need to get out of the hotel as with 5 outdoor swimming pools, a selection of great restaurants and the Apollo Spa, you will find everything you’re looking for, within the hotel.

THE ROOM

Upon checking in, we were informed that we were upgraded to a suite on the 5th floor. I was hoping that our room will have a nice view, considering the hotel’s prime location by the sea. Surely enough, when I entered the room, I was greeted by an unrivalled view of the Mediterranean sea.

The decor was elegant and tasteful, with colours inspired by the Maltese islands, with cream walls, blue and burgundy elements on the furniture and paintings. The colour palette reminded me a lot of the traditional Maltese houses with the cream facade and colourful balconies creating a beautiful contrast.

The suite offers two TVs (not that you will need it, considering the stunning view you have from your balcony) and a minibar. There is also a selection of teas and a coffee machine. We particularly enjoyed the coffee machine while we relaxed in the comfortable living room area before heading to the restaurant for our dinner.

Next morning, be sure to order your breakfast early in the morning and enjoy it at your balcony as you watch the sunrise. It is the perfect way to kick start your day and discover Malta!

THE FACILITIES

Allow yourself one day to relax by the pool. We spend the biggest part of our day enjoying the adult swimming pool area. It is an ideal place to unwind and soak up the sun with a refreshing drink in hand.

In the evening, head to the Broadside Terrace for a dining experience by the sea. Be sure to order one of their signature cocktails and sip at a leisurely pace as you watch the sunset. The meat and fish are cooked on a woodchip grill, barbeque style. Nothing screams summer louder than a barbecue! Highlights of the dinner were the cocktails and the complimentary meze, made up of delicious dips and pita bread.

Caviar & Bull is one of the best restaurants in Malta. Molecular gastronomy meets the Mediterranean cuisine, combined with great service and gorgeous views. No wonder it has become a favorite amongst locals and foreigners alike.
