We had heard so much about Tulum; its amazing beaches, the boho cafes and stylish hotels and we were over the moon excited to finally explore this slice of heaven. Tulum is one of the most famous cities in the Yucatan peninsula, attracting tourists and ex-pats alike, from around the world.

There are many gorgeous places to visit in Tulum (as you will see from the photos below), so you want to spend at least 3 days here. Be sure to rent a car so you can take full advantage of your days and you don’t waste your time with buses or your money on taxis.
The ultimate place to visit in Tulum is no other than its stunning beach. Our advice, leave a full day free of plans, so you can enjoy hours of swimming in the shimmering turquoise waters and lounging at one of the hip beach bars sipping margaritas.

We gained a few inches around the waist during our days in Tulum, that’s how good the food everywhere was; you’ve been warned.
Past the vibrant food scene, one of the best places to visit in Tulum is the beautiful Mayan ruins. The Mayan ruins are located right on the cliff, with scenic views over the ocean; it is a unique archeological site, with a captivating history and without a doubt one of the best places to visit in Tulum.
A visit to the Yucatan peninsula would be incomplete if you don’t visit at least one cenote. There are thousands of them to choose from and they’re so much fun. Most of them have an entrance fee and they tend to get crowded fast. However, swimming at a cenote remains one of the most unique things to do in and around Tulum and we can’t recommend it enough.
