8. CELLINI, NAXXAR

As you walk into Cellini you’ll immediately feel the cozy vibes. Housed in a historic building in Naxxar, this iconic wine bar will teleport you back to the 19th century the moment you step in. The service is excellent, so be sure to ask your waiter to walk you through their wine list and introduce you to the various Maltese grape varieties. If you’re indecisive, then don’t hesitate to allow him to decide for you. Either way, we’re certain you’ll leave this place fully satisfied. This is by far one of the best wine bars in Malta!

7. DEL BORGO, BIRGU

Birgu is one of the most charming towns in Malta mainly due to the high concentration of historic buildings and the beautiful architecture which creates picture-perfect scenery. It is in one of these historical buildings that Del Borgo is located. The owners didn’t want to take away the feel of this house of character so they’ve tried to keep the interior to the minimum and instead focus more on quality food and their remarkable wine list. The food menu offers great options of local dishes made of fresh produce so we’d highly recommend that you give it a try. If you’re looking for the best wine bars in Malta, then don’t hesitate to add Del Borgo to your list.

6. TRABUXU

Trabuxu is popular not only to the locals but also among the many expats who live on the island. You’ll find it in a narrow street only a few meters from the entrance of Valletta. We love the warm atmosphere and the cozy vibes at Trabuxu and whenever we’re asked for our recommendation on the best wine bars in Malta, this one is on top of our list.

Like most places in Malta, here too the space is limited so make sure to book a table in advance. If you’re visiting during the warm months, we’d highly recommend a table outside.

5. LEGLIGIN

Dining and wining are all about the experience and Legligin guarantees a memorable experience that’ll tickle your taste buds. We just love this place; we’ve been to Legligin a bunch of times and we just can’t get enough. They have a very wide selection of local and international wines, to satisfy even the most demanding wine connoisseur so you’re in good hands. They serve mainly a tasting menu whereby you can try several traditional Maltese dishes. This is one of the best wine bars in Valletta and entire Malta so naturally, they get very busy, especially on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Don’t forget to book in advance!

1. BRIDGE BAR, VALLETTA

Probably you have passed by this spot while you were exploring Valletta during the day but chances are, you didn’t notice that this corner building is actually a bar. Bridge Bar is named because of its location right by a small bridge and it only opens in the evening. As the sun sets, this Instagrammable spot in Valletta completely transforms into a bustling wine bar with tables outside and cushions placed on the steps. It is a cool place to be, especially on Fridays when they have live jazz music. The service tends to be rather slow so take our advice and better order from the bar.
