This is one of the newest additions to the ever-expanding list of places for breakfast and brunch in Malta. Tribe has become such a massive success and a popular brunch place in Malta, that they have restaurants in not one, but two locations, one in Naxxar and the second one in Valletta. If you’re typing “brunch Malta” on Google, we imagine this is exactly the kind of place you’re looking for. Pancakes that melt in your mouth, freshly baked sourdough with intriguing ingredient combinations, and the meanest burgers we’ve ever tasted. Baker Street
You can easily miss Baker Street Cafe if you’re passing by it, but this understated cafe it’s worth your time. Located in the residential area of Iklin, here is where the locals enjoy their breakfast and brunch in Malta. The owner is using the freshest ingredients for their daily scrumptious meals. Here we’ve had some of the best sweet delights in Malta, which are made in-house by the lovely owner. As you enter the coffee shop don’t be discouraged by its seemingly tiny size for it doubles as you walk further in. For those who love art, Baker Street offers a surprise to its patrons, as there is a small gallery where you can admire the art of the new and upcoming local artists.

Crust
Crust is located in the heart of St Julian’s and while the food is delicious, what we love most about this place is the location. You can enjoy your breakfast or brunch on their patio while watching the passers-by at one of the busiest locations in Malta. Be sure to try their signature Breakfast Tagine…YUM! If you still have space for dessert, then do not leave without trying the Sweet French Toast.

Danny’s
At Danny’s, they know how to do food and how to do it right. Eggs are everyone’s comfort food as far as breakfast and brunch go, and at Danny’s, they’ve found a way to elevate their flavor with their Hummus & Eggs dish. If you prefer to stay in your comfort zone, then go for the Sloppy Eggs. No matter the dish you choose, you’ll be coming back for more. Two Buoys
Two Buoys came recommended by so many of our friends, so naturally, I HAD to try it and report back. The rumors were right, their breakfast & brunch were heavenly. This is where Melbourne meets Malta, creating epic dishes. Nuff said.
Two Buoys – like most popular restaurants in Malta – gets quite busy, so plan and book a table. When it comes to Malta brunch, Two Buoys excels at it. “Word of advice, come hungry!

Marelli Cafe
This hidden gem does not get the praise that it deserves. So we think it is time for the world to know! Marelli Cafe is a tiny place in the Birkirkara area in Malta that doubles in size when the weather is nice, by adding tables outside. Much like Emma’s Kitchen, this one too is off the beaten path but you will get rewarded by one of Marelli’s special dishes. Sit back, relax, and let Marelli do the rest. Our personal favorite is the Nduja eggs with whipped feta. Heavenly!
Location: 3A Triq ta L-Indjana Fleur de Lys , Birkirkara BKR, 1990
U Bistrot
You’ll fall in love with U-Bistrot’s decor, as well as the excellent location. The interior decor is reminiscent of a French café, with faux flowers hanging from the ceiling, creating a romantic vibe. U Bistrot is located by the sea in St. Julian’s, so the seaview comes with the package. We’d highly recommend that you take your breakfast or brunch on the outside patio so you can take advantage of the warm Maltese weather. The brunch and breakfast options are traditional but sometimes, all we want is an all-time favorite omelet and a hot cup of coffee to kick-start our day.

Word of Mouth
As far as breakfast and brunch go, we can safely say that this is one of our top favorite places in Malta. Word of Mouth – WoW has taken over the location formerly occupied by Mint, a longtime favorite breakfast joint in Malta and now it simply changed hands and name but thankfully the food has remained equally awesome. We love everything about this place, the service, the food, and the overall vibe. Keep an eye out for the jukebox inside the restaurant and don’t shy away from choosing your favorite tune to accompany you while you enjoy the food and the sea views!
