We always thought that Las Vegas has so much more to offer than just the Strip and during our recent visit, our thoughts were proven to be true. As we navigated the city and its surroundings, in search of the best things to do in Las Vegas we caught ourselves having heaps of fun, and guess what? None of these activities involved any of its flashy casinos.
Las Vegas is more often than not associated with gambling and partying. While the city’s nightlife is as vibrant as it gets, we’re here to talk about some of the best things to do in Las Vegas for those (like us) who have left their party days way behind.
For us traveling is all about unique experiences, doing fun things, and exploring off-the-beaten-path places. Our guide to the best things to do in Las Vegas has a mix of the above that apply to all types of travelers.

10 BEST THINGS TO DO IN LAS VEGAS
1. SLOTZILLA
The first time we were at Fremont Street back in 2018, I saw people doing the zip line and although I wanted very much to try it out, I hesitated, due to my fear of heights. This time around, I visited Vegas with the determination to try out many things on my bucket list, without any hesitations and it was the best decision ever! The Slotzilla is an incredible adrenaline-fueled activity for those looking to try out something new and exciting. There are two types of zipline you can choose; the sitting position, which covers half of Fremont Street, and the so-called “superman” position. The latter starts from one end of the street to the other end. Slotzilla will also give you the unique opportunity to see famous Fremont street from a whole different viewpoint.

2. THE HIGH ROLLER LAS VEGAS
Same as with Slotzilla, this one too was something that I wanted to try for a long time but kept postponing it for the same reasons. The High Roller Las Vegas, offers some of the best views in the city; panoramic views that extend as far as the eye can see. I later got to know that The High Roller, is the largest Ferris wheel in North America! If you’re visiting with friends, why not book an entire booth for yourselves? This way you can enjoy a Happy Half Hour with an open bar and your very own bartender to prepare your favorite cocktails. Don’t worry, it’s totally safe and 100% fun! 3. VISIT THE NEON MUSEUM
Ah, The Neon Museum! I could spend an entire day here and not get tired of this place. A visit to The Neon Museum is one of the best things to do in Las Vegas and one of the few remaining places filled with nostalgia for a bygone era. Some of the vibrant neon signs date as far back as 1930 and each of them has its own unique story. To learn more about the signs be sure to book a tour. The best time to visit The Neon Museum is after sunset, when all the signs are lit, which creates a magical experience.

4. DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS WALKING TOUR
As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, we truly believe that Las Vegas is packed with awesome things to do. In fact, most of them don’t involve the stereotypical touristy things. Some of them, such as Las Vegas Walking Tours, are more focused on the history of the city. We believe that this is one of the best things to do in Las Vegas is it’s informative and super fun. It is one of the few attractions on earth that can be seen from space, which gives you a good idea of its magnitude. You can hike one of its many trails or you can enjoy the breathtaking views from its main viewpoints; no matter which way you choose to experience it, it will leave a lasting impression. 6. DRIVE THE LUXURY CAR OF YOUR DREAMS

We’ve been twice to Valley of Fire and both times we were awestruck by its lunar landscape. Whenever we’re asked what are some of the best things to do in Las Vegas, our top recommendation is Valley of Fire. This wonderful place is located just 45’ from Las Vegas which makes it the perfect escape from the city. If you have enough time, we’d highly suggest that you camp there one night. This will give you the chance to see this scenic route in the best light possible. Some will argue that the best time to visit the Valley of Fire is during the sunset. Whilst both sunset and sunrise offer great lighting, we prefer it during the sunrise because there are little to no crowds at all. So you can experiment with your photography and take amazing pictures sans the crowds!
8. EXPERIENCE THE LOOP – DRIVE A TESLA IN AN UNDERGROUND TUNNEL
Did you know that an underground tunnel is located right under the Las Vegas Convention Center? The most fascinating part is that the cars used to drive the riders in the loop are exclusively Tesla’s and you have your designated driver. What’s even more interesting, is that the tunnel connects one part of the convention center to the other, meaning that your commute time between campuses shrinks from 45’ to just a couple of minutes! How cool is that?
If you’re a Tesla fan, then you’re going to love this unique experience in Vegas. The goal of this project is to beat the dreadful Las Vegas traffic by creating underground tunnels. Once the project is fully complete, the loop will connect all main areas of the city and reduce significantly the commute time and hopefully the traffic congestion. We believe that this is one of the best things to do in Las Vegas because it gives you the chance to be one of the first people to experience this “futuristic project”, as I like to call it.
9. CONQUER YOUR FEAR OF HEIGHTS BY GOING INDOOR SKYDIVING
Okay, this is possibly one of the coolest things to do in Las Vegas. Although it might sound scary, we guarantee you’ll have an absolute blast. Most likely the idea of sky diving fills you with dread (at least that’s how we feel), we get it. However, indoor skydiving is totally safe as the activity takes place in a secure area, with an instructor who will provide brief training before you fly. It’s not very often that we get the chance to fly so don’t miss out on this epic activity during your next visit to Vegas.

10. GO ON A HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE
I don’t know about you but whenever I think of hot air balloons, the last thing that comes to mind is Las Vegas. In my mind, this unique activity is instantly associated with destinations such as Cappadocia in Turkey. You can imagine our surprise when we heard that one of the best things to do in Las Vegas is to go on a hot air balloon ride. We’re all about unique experiences, especially when happen in the most unexpected places. If you’re like us, then this is an unmissable experience. You’ll have to wake up early for this one, as the rides start at sunrise. But, don’t fret because you’ll get to see Las Vegas as you’ve never seen it before!
